Elementary Students Recognized for Citizenship

Nodaway-Holt Elementary students are recognized each month for displaying the character trait of the month.  Students are acknowledged by their teacher and receive a certificate for making such good choices throughout the month.  Congratulations to the these students for displaying high levels of CITIZENSHIP throughout the month of November.

Annual JH 275 Conference Basketball Tournament

Each year the junior high basketball teams finish their seasons off with the annual conference tournament. The first round the 275 Junior High Conference Invitational Tournament will be played on Saturday, December 7 at West Nodaway. The girls will play at 10:00 and the boys will play immediately following the girl's contest. Win or lose, the teams will play on Monday, December 9. Times listed currently are To Be Determined. 8th Grade Science Makes Their Own Toothpaste

The 8th grade students recently made their own toothpastes in science class to put their understanding of minerals and scientific inquiry into practice. The students made and tested a classic white and a chocolate based toothpaste. They tested the cleaning power of the pastes on their recently used mineral streak plates and the results were clear! Mound City Basketball Tournament Brackets

The boys and girls basketball teams with kick their seasons off with the annual Mound City Basketball Tournament which will be held December 2-7. With only six teams, on both the boys and girls brackets this year, the format has changed to the pool play format. 275 Conference Choir

Nodaway-Holt Celebrates Veteran's Day

All Nodaway-Holt students attended the Veteran's Day Celebration, held at the high school.  The assembly started with the posting of the American flag, followed by the National Anthem performed by the band.  Tenille Shields, of Quilts of Valor,  presented three beautiful quilts to area veterans.  The high school choir sand America the Beautiful and the elementary sang My Country Tis Of Thee.  The guest . . .

Open House for New High School

Come join us November 10th from 2:00-4:00 pm in celebrating the new addition of the High School. Cake, cookies and punch will be served along with tours of the new facility. Dedication is planned at 2:30 pm on the North side of the building. (weather permitting). Hope to see you there!

Bus Evacuation Drill

On October 23rd, Bus drivers conducted a mock bus evacuation drill. Bus drivers explain to the students the proper procedures for safely evacuating the school bus in the event of an emergency. The students practiced how to exit the bus from the rear door. WHEN TO EVACUATE: Normally, passengers are safer inside the bus. For a normal breakdown, the students should be kept inside the bus. Elementary Celebrates Red Ribbon Week

The elementary students spent last week celebrating Red Ribbon Week.  Red Ribbon Week celebrates alcohol, tobacco, drug and bullying prevention and brings to light the importance of making good choices.  Students had daily dress up days, decorated doors, and completed activities with high school students.
